It is with great honor and admiration that we highlight our Veteran of the Month, Jim Zientek. Jim has been an integral part of Cook For Vets since our inception in January 2023, dedicating his time and effort to supporting our mission. His commitment to service and his exemplary dedication make Jim a true standout among our volunteers, and we are privileged to recognize and commend him for his remarkable contributions.
Jim’s journey of service began with a deep-rooted family tradition, as both his father and uncles proudly served as Marines. Following in their footsteps, Jim seized the opportunity to commission into the Marine Corps upon graduating college, embarking on a distinguished military career that spanned nearly three decades.
During his tenure in the United States Marine Corps, Jim rose to the rank of Colonel and undertook assignments that took him across the globe, from Japan to Europe, Vietnam, Australia, Kuwait, and Iraq, to name just a few. His unwavering dedication to his country and to the Marines and Sailors under his care is a testament to his character and his commitment to the values that define the Marine Corps.
Jim firmly believes that it is the call to service that truly makes America great and his 30 years spent as a U.S. Marine have shaped him into the man he is today. With the values and ideals instilled in him during his time in the military, Jim continues to embody the spirit of service in every aspect of his life.
