Raising Awareness through Fundraising

Saturday, May 20th, 2023 is one I will fondly recall for a very long time. Our second fundraiser, this one being held at Honor Brewing Co. in Chantilly, VA was a success. I am grateful to Leighanne and Jacob for their assistance and guidance in making our event run smoothly.  All in all, I could not be more pleased as everything was well-executed from start to finish. With our bake sale and raffle drawing, delicious food and beer, Peter Warren entertaining us with his music, and the many Veteran Service Organizations marketing tables present  enabled us to accomplish what we set out to do. A special thank you goes out to James Custodio, our featured guest speaker representing the Virginia Department of Veteran Services, which has given Cook For Vets the platform to build a strong foundation for helping those who have served and sacrificed and struggling with food scarcity. A huge shoutout to our dedicated team of volunteers for making it possible to do this work. Raising awareness and spreading our mission is essential if we are to serve more and more Veterans in need. It is truly an honor and a privilege to be doing the work we are doing. For now, we can reflect and feel proud of what we have accomplished thus far. There is still much more work to be done, but taking time to reflect and revel in the goodness is what inspires us to remain committed to the mission as we stay focused on the tasks at hand. One Veteran. One day at a time.
