At Ease

My first contact with At Ease military magazine came in August of 2022. I was so impressed with its far-reaching audience and featured content. I wasted no time in connecting with John Rives, Director of Southern Maryland and DC Military Publications.

From our first call, John wanted to support Cook For Vets and help us get word of our mission to the public. In turn, John connected me with Eli Wohlenhaus, Executive Editor/Digital Content at APG Media of Chesapeake SoMD News, and DC Military. Both these gentlemen have wholeheartedly supported our efforts and had their incredible photographer, Jeffrey Heeney take photos at our Dress Up To Stock The Pantry kickoff fundraiser event last October. Jeff also photographed us stocking our food pantry after our Thanksgiving Food Drive.

With all the photos taken, we became a featured three-page spread in At Ease’s December 2022 issue. I couldn’t resist turning to them once again as I was seeking Sponsorship for our Souls Feeding Souls 2023 Spring fundraiser event. I had a great meeting with Eli, Brook Ash, Advertising Regional Manager and Ryan Ebaugh, Advertising Supervisor, to discuss prospects of them becoming a Cook For Vets’ 4 Star Founding Sponsor for In-Kind Media Coverage. I’m thrilled to share that our alliance with the folks at At Ease will further help Cook For Vets reach an even wider audience.

It is important to add, that since being featured last year in their magazine, we have acquired numerous volunteers including both Active Duty soldiers, as well as Veterans sharing our passion to help fellow Veterans. The connections we are forming as a direct result of being featured in At Ease has opened up doors to even more opportunities for organizations to support our mission. I am beyond grateful for the support of At Ease and am excited for them being part of our incredible journey as Cook For Vets becomes a household name within the Veteran community.
