On October 22, Cook For Vets was honored to participate in the Fairfax City Community Engagement Expo, hosted at the Stacy C. Sherwood Center. The event marked the culmination of the city’s “Civic Connections” seven-week program, which encourages residents and local business owners to become more actively involved in their community.
The open house–style expo was filled with energy and enthusiasm as attendees explored the many ways to serve and support local initiatives. For Cook For Vets, this was a wonderful opportunity to introduce our mission to new neighbors and share how we’re working to combat Veteran food scarcity across Northern Virginia.
Now proudly operating in Fairfax County, our team was eager to connect with community members, city leaders, and fellow organizations who share our passion for service. The evening was both inspiring and productive—another meaningful step forward in building alliances that ensure no Veteran goes hungry.
